Hi,
Forgive me for what is probably a basic query, but I have a question about Club Eurostar and train and hotel bookings with Eurostar. I've just been on one, and (as ever) had to manually request Club Eurostar points (this consistently seems to be an issue). I queried the number of points I received, and was told I got fewer than I'd expected because I had only entered my Club Eurostar number after I'd made the booking (made on a work credit card by our finance person, so I didn't do it earlier). In the initial reply from customer service, they basically quoted the Club Eurostar Terms and Conditions at me. I was... surprised at how abrupt this was, and was amazed to have the small print quoted at me immediately when I'd clearly made a good faith query--and had added my Club Eurostar number to the booking almost immediately. I've since replied to them complaining and saying that their own help page doesn't mention this restriction (
https://help.eurostar.com/faq/uk-en/...n-Eurostar-com). I realise I'm unlikely to get anywhere, but this is the closest I've come to a) realising why people seem to really dislike Eurostar customer service b) thinking that something is quite sharp practice (who out there goes through all the legal clauses when making a booking on anything? Who even reads the help pages...)
Has anyone else had this experience or had any luck getting them to be generous? At this point I'm more annoyed about how abrupt they've been than about the points, frankly.
