I've got about 18,000 Skywards Miles to use and keen to do one final ride on Emirates, I'm thinking of booking Business (would have done First if I could..) from CMB to MLE, obviously a very short flight - but enough to grab a glass of fizz and at least have the lounge at CMB. Any insight into whether it's worth it for this short flight or any other suggestions on what else I might be able to spend the miles on!?
I take MLE-CMB every year in F and have for 15 years. Youre in the air for less than an hour and cruising for less than 20 minutes. This means you cannot even have the seat flat for more than 1/2 an hour. Its really not an experience worth going out of your way for IMO. They also dont serve a meal-they have a one plate snack. But then again flying for no purpose doesn't interest me either so I wouldnt fly for the purpose of burning miles. The lounge in CMB is absolutely nothing to go out of your way for either. Its just a standard EK lounge with below average food offerings.
