Wow this is still an issue.
Wanted to do a booking today using a different card than the one on file with Avis. I put in the details at checkout - verify with bank - and rejected by Avis. Call Avis to do the booking over the phone. Same problem rejected. Transferred to customer service to manually update the details = 24-48 wait time for system to update the card. Explanation? "Security"
I guess it's back to a different rental company
