I'm sure that another FTer with more IAD familiarity will be along eventually to answer your specific question. Someone might even be able to provide the specific IAD minimum-connecting time from UA domestic to AF when traveling on a single ticket. But do you have a Plan B if you miss the AF flight? Would you scrub the trip? Pay cash for a last-minute walk-up ticket?
