Feedly is ad supported. But any free reader app would be. Saving the page as a PDF works as well. Unfortunately I don't have an ipad handy to check to see if the process to save web pages is the same. But for android

1) In Chrome, go to the page you want to read
2) in the Hamburger menu, click on download in the menu bar (on my phone, it's in the top part of the menu).

To read

1) Go to the downloads page in Chrome
2) Select the page
