It can vary depending on your news feeds... Many use RSS feeds, however they don't include the full article (some do, some want to redirect you to their website so they can get advertising in there). When I was commuting locally, I would usually download the pages in Chrome (android phone)...before entering the subway. For feeds that gave you the full article, I'd use RSS readers like Feedly. I don't know about the Mac version, but the windows version of Outlook (so the full client) also supports RSS feeds.
