I think my best option now is to fly back to CAI and do the same journey in two days' time
Man that is rough. I had the exact same issue on my flight to Sydney. ETSA was attached to my old passport and I didn't realize it until I got to IST. Fortunately, I was able to get a new ETSA in time for my flight. Are you able to change your flight at all or are you marked as no show?
