I received a quote from a travel agent, but I’m unsure if the price they provided will be further reduced by the free night at checkout.
the travel agent should’ve explained this. Differently from other programmes, with IHG destined a free night means that the rate for the 3rd or 4th night is 0. The discount can repeat throughout the stay and you can get a 6th or 8th night free, but it doesn’t work like a 33% or 25% discount across the entire stay (for example if you stay 5 nights).
