Is there a consistent brand that is most family-friendly, specifically for families of 5? I was looking at having my wife get the IHG One Rewards Premier card and ChatGPT mentions that Indigo, Kimpton, and InterContinental, often have some flexibility specifically for adding newborns. Or do Airbnbs or VRBO's end up being the most economical with a family, even if it's a cash booking?
Speaking with my dad (as we are a family of 5), he said that he somewhat reluctantly used to book a hotel room with 2 adults and just 2 kids, and have us walk in separately to avoid needing to book two hotel rooms. Thanks in advance for any tips/tricks here as I am a new dad!
I just did a long trip to Italy and used VRBO's, and was very pleased with the quality of the accommodations and the safety factors on the booking process. I was traveling solo, but ended up getting places that could easily accommodate 2 adults, 2 kids & an infant (2 places had portacribs in the closet). In Rome, the 2 bedroom VRBO apartment cost less per night than the ** or *** hotels, and I had a full kitchen and laundry facilities. I traveled plenty with my now-grown kid, and when he was little, it was great to stay in places with a kitchen as traveling kids have unpredictable appetites.
After 2 negative/dangerous experiences with AirBnB, I will never go near them again.
