I have an AIB Platinum credit card which gives 0.5% cash back. Pre-Revpoints, I used my AIB card for all my spending and maxmised the cash back.
What I'm doing now is topping up my Revolut debit card using the AIB Platinum card. The top-up transaction earns 0.5% cash back, just like any other transaction. I then earn Revpoints as I spend through my Revolut credit card.
I'm earning the same AIB cash back as before but now getting Revpoints on top.
I'm currently on the Revolut Ultra Plan because we recently moved house and were doing a lot of big purchases (e.g. - furniture and appliances). Ultra plan is saucy though so I it's harder to justify the monthly fee as the big house-related purchases come to an end. It might make sense to apply for a Revolut credit card and drop down from the Ultra to Metal Plan. I'd still get 1:1 but with a much lower monthly fee. Staying on Ultra and getting a credit card is also an option to be weighed up (a 50% higher points earning rate with €1 : 1.5 Revpoints)
metal plan is 1:2 ie one avios per €2 spent not 1:1
