If I followed through I've no doubt it'd have turned out just like boneofthet ticket with the initial J portion dropped. In my case I knew this isn't how it should look, so I stopped and left it alone. Hopefully AS can work to get the OP's ticket back somehow, but it sounds like they think it's user error vs something wonky going on with their system so I doubt it.
Smart move! I'm glad you didn't move forward otherwise you'll likely end up in my situation. In my case, the customer representatives all admitted that it was the system that couldn't re-issue my ticket correctly. One of the agents said it was because my credit card got declined, which was not true since I was never asked to put my CC info as there was no balance due. Another agent also confirmed that it wasn't related to credit card, but she couldn't figure out what went wrong but was able to see both the domestic flight and the TPE flight for the booking in their system. If they wanted to blame this to be a user error, I found out that in the Mileage Activity page also clearly and correctly documented how many points were deducted for what flights. At this point, they just simply said there's nothing they could do so I'm not hopefully they'll help me get the booking back.
