When it initially happened, the Alaska agents thought it was just their belt that went down and were directing people to drop bags off at other belts, not realizing it was affecting the entire north end of the airport. Once they realized, bags were collected but not sent down the belts. Once the belts started back up, the bags were sent.

Yes, it caused some confusion and longer lines for bag drop for a bit.
