I’d for sure file a DOT complaint if AS doesn’t want own the bugs of their site and it costs me a J award I had. At the very least it will escalate the issue to someone who may be a bit more caring or skilled than the front line agents. And the higher ups do care about the number of complaints lodged annually against them with the DOT.
I did request to escalate this to a supervisor and specified that there was nothing wrong with the agent I spoke to but it was a completely mistake of AS site, and she said "An escalation is really not beneficial, because this policy is not Alaska's, it is Starlux's". Again, this was the agent who was more helpful and patient in helping me to get this sorted. All the other agents I spoke to pretty much had the same attitude of "Yeah nothing we can do here, bye!". I'll look into the DOT complaint thing, but honestly I feel like unless I'm a Youtuber who has 1m follower, AS probably isn't going to do anything proactively. But thanks for the advice.
