If I have a phone number that they can process, sure, but the problem is after I started saying that it's international number with country code +##, they said, "Do you have a US number?" and I thought "if I had a US number I would have given it to you so why on earth would I give you my international phone number?". I even said to one that my number also works on whatsapp and they said "nevermind". So what's the point? I was the one trying to comply and I remember at some point of time when they did that I said, "I only have an international number and I don't have a US number" to shorten the conversation.

Not to mention that when I used to go the US we did road trips, which means that by the time we got to the hotel we just wanted to get to the room and take a shower and go to bed. Also, because of that we move hotel daily which means the same question would be asked 9 out of 10 times. Not sure how you feel if you were in my situation.

What's the point of them asking for the phone number if a lot of people in the US only pick up their phones when it's someone they know that calls them?

I know it's not the fault of the front desks - they are just doing what they are told to do and that's why I tried to work with them.
