I am not massively keen on eggs on planes but I've always thought the cold plate CE breakfast dishes like smoked salmon and charcuterie were pretty decent. So if you take them, other than offering a large fruit plate I'm not sure what else can be offered for breakfast time that won't have eggs in it. A large bowl of cereal with milk would no doubt create howls of outrage on both this forum and social media. Best bet is to do what I do and avoid early morning flights unless there's no alternative!
Flying Qatar, I enjoyed a bowl of cereal alongside many non-egg options. Honestly, I would find a bowl of cornflakes with sliced banana very refreshing. If there is plenty of choice, no one needs to howl. It's the obsession with eggs that makes many people howl. It's the assumption that everyone wants eggs for breakfast that makes egg-haters howl. That assumption is so American. BA is not an American airline. There are so many things BA could serve but, no, they lack imagination (as do many people posting on here).
I see my earlier response to KARFA was edited, but I stick to my view that it is faux naive to ask others to explain what other options exist. I'm sure it's not difficult to think for yourself
