You can verify on the "My Reservations" page....the upgrade should show up as 'not requested'. I caught mine by checking "My Reservations" after the GLD 24 hr window opened and I noticed I was moved to F. I then called and the first AAgent didn't know how to undo an upgrade...I had to wait for a 2nd, more experienced, AAgent to undo the upgrade and put me back in Y.
