I booked a non-refundable domestic ticket using an ETC close to expiry, cancelled within the 24 hr grace period, and received a new ETC for the same expiry date (tomorrow) ! Should I just try again?

I need to book international travel in the next few weeks, but I don't have a date (waiting for a baby to be born :-)

Any other suggestions please?
