For those considering between the Hyatt Regency Times Square or the Hyatt Grand Central, I would recommend the Hyatt Grand Central.
Just posted my review of the Hyatt Regency Times Square. The property has a prime location in Times Square close to Junior's, etc. No valet curb for drop-offs and pick-ups makes it very challenging.
Yes the Hyatt Grand Central does not reflect their previous renovation updates. Rooms are old and the toiletries of a Hyatt Place. But there is a Commodore's Lounge with outdoor patio on the 16th Flr and breakfast in the lobby restaurant for Globalists.
Was impressed with the entrance security desk requiring room key or confirmed hotel reservation on the room list for access up to the lobby level of the hotel. Given how close the hotel is to Grand Central Station, this really made the lobby feel more of a safer space from theft.
Will continue to enjoy the Hyatt Grand Central property until closes for Project Commodore sometime in 2026.
