However, getting to DUB extra early, just so I can stress about what time to go downstaris, where I get to dump all my fluids obtained in the terminal and experience the thrills of a secondary TSA security inspection, followed by a secondary immigration screening, only to get to my spartan isolated gate with no available seats, only to be told the flight departure has just been delayed 30+ minutes, has happened to me both times I have used preclearance. I'm glad it works for you, and I certainly understand the current nightmarish political situation making it exponentially more desirable for everyone. If you have Global Entry or even the Mobile MPC you can use them in Dublin too. So if you got secondary immigration screening well than they must have had an issue with something in your data.
Sure, GE/MPC on entry ports in the US is nice but Irish Citizens can't get GE at the moment while MPC is an option, it still does not beat the pre-clearance for standard travelers.
