So, 77W and then today to 789v1 and downgraded to economy.
I was called by AirNZ and told it was a now 320, all
economy service. But then a bit later I could check-in and saw I was auto allocated high 50s in Y - so much for prioritising Elites. Vacant seats further forward 🤷♂️
Staying Pullman AKL tonight as ex-WLG, so walked over to Premium Checkin to untangle - is it a 320 or a 789v1? With family member supposedly TCPed e-tix but different seating….???
Premium were not interested at all once they had the “was in biz on 77W, told now 320 in Y” story, and said bugger off to ticketing, but they probably cant help.
Ticketing had a problem with aircraft change language and kept referring to a ‘smaller plane’, and didn’t understand the situation of me being advised by Premium Care Team that I would be on a 320, yet was able to checkin on a 787. She made a call and the Load Controller moved us further forward.
Was supposed to be on ZK-NZD (789v1 - hence the downgrade), but this got away late tonite to PER and it’ll be tight if it can be ready for NZ103 tomorrow.
If you see someone in the AKL International lounge with thunderclouds over their head, it’s most likely me.
I find the staff in the premium check in not helpful or experienced. I went there to select the blocked out (6a/7a from memory) seats on 777 told me sorry you can’t select them and we can’t help you. I went to the normal check in and they phoned up and said all done.
