Had a chance to stay for a night last week to check a brand off the list. Overall, I liked the property, though I knew its shortcomings before arriving. I think if you're going to fly all the way to Cancun, you need to be on the beach. That being said, many of the new builds on the ocean have a truly awful beach, so maybe you're not missing much.
The property's service, food, and quality of the experience was really great. Loved getting VantageClub as a Globalist, and they made sure to fit me into the sold-out Japanese restaurant Oishii upon arrival which was a great touch. Breakfast on the rooftop (same restaurant) was excellent as well, very high quality food.
Suite upgrade was great- amazing views. Unfortunately very poor noise reduction in the rooms. You can hear everything in the hallway (I was at the very end). Soft-close doors would help some of it, but you could also hear road noise instead of the ocean waves at other resorts.
Pool on the rooftop is necessary to enjoy this hotel fully, in my opinion. You can catch a breeze, as downstairs it felt awfully hot by the main pools. Beach club is nice-looking, but with massive construction next door and seaweed on the beach, it wasn't a hit for me.
Made a full tour/review vid for those interested. I would recommend to check off a brand for a short stay before moving to an oceanfront option elsewhere in the program.
