I have always called the hotel directly when I need to add a name or change a name on a reservation. So far, I haven't gotten any pushback regardless of its an award stay or cash stay. Full disclosure, I don't think I have tried it for a FNA stay. Still, I suggest calling the hotel directly. They are more interested in making sure you keep your reservation and so far have been accommodating. Give it a shot, you don't have anything to lose at this point. YMMV...

P.S. I try to call early to mid afternoon local time avoiding the check-in/check-out busy periods.
