Maybe she was the only guest for the hotel - then it might be cheaper to provide a private tranfer than than a shared minibus/bus - I remember once at old Ataturk airport I was provided a taxi to get to the transit hotel (due to a missed connection). next morning I was picked up with other passengers in a bus.
Usually they fill up the next bus/minibus with passengers to minimize transport costs.
