I've flown both quite a number of times, I would recommend sticking with NH. NH includes lounge access with PY if you're not Star Gold, also has slightly more recline and comfort. I echo others in that NH Y meals are pretty tasty, not as well presented as United Premium Plus but I personally don't mind. UA wins on IFE/App, NH wins on comfort/service.
I'm not 100% sure the SF clubs are worth the lounge access, but if its a return flight, the NRT/HND lounges are. While the NH lounges are pretty mid for J, they're great on PE. Offer void if you're *A gold.
Similarly for the refurn flight, if you pay the $10 or whatever for the special meal in PE ex-tokyo, its pretty fantastic IMHO. Plus access to quite a bit of J drinks list during a big part of the flight is nice.
