PS I cannot figure out how AA seat looks like - I found videos but it shows different type of seats. One has narrow room for legs triangular shape which I don't find comfortable, the other seems fine.
For seat comfort AA business beats any premium economy hands down, on JL or any other carrier for that matter.

However I would never ever spend 154k for a one-way from TYO-LAX, thats a terrible redemption. At those prices I would book the 50k JL PE now then just keep an eye on things, cancel it and book business when the price drops to something reasonable.
