Speaking of Veneto, I treated myself to one night in Venice (could call it an XP run), got a room with a Grand Canal view (they ended up giving me a room with a little balcony, nice!), had dinner and drinks on the roof top with a view, went to my favorite Select Spritz hole in the wall bar, sat by the canal at night soaking in the canal summer vibes (without the day tourists)... priceless! And I'd happily do it again. So it's really up to you how and where to go for those "XP runs", and everyone does it differently in their own way. Imo, there's no good or right way, only your way.
