I was once on a TP run to Honolulu. DUB-LHR-MAN (overnight stop) - PHL - LAX - HNL (5 night stopover) and return same route. My bag did not make it to Manchester, so off I went to the shopping center and bought essentials for overnight and next day. Bag never showed up in Honolulu, so for 5 days I was at the mall purchasing for each day. On last night in Honolulu , I get a call from someone at United Airlines (surprised as it’s not OW), saying they have my bag and could courier it to hotel. I asked them to hold it at airport and I would pick it up on my outbound flight. By this point I had already purchased a new bag to put my clothes purchased in.

All incurred expenses including new suitcase were reimbursed without any question. 😀
