Well I hope it works out. On the face of it, the bags are sitting in a pile somewhere in Florida, with some overloaded courier struggling to know what to do next. I hope that their bags have some contact details on them. I often suggest people leave a letter or card on the top of, and inside, a checked bag with email and SMS contact details, since at some point the bag will end up too detached from the computer trail. But what is really important is that on day 21 they claim for full loss, even if they have a hunch the bag has in fact been located. Previously BA has used the 21 day requirement as a reason for not paying for loss, though when their own processing started to exceed 21 days this had to be abandoned as a policy. By all means get in touch with any follow up.
