To everyone who is of the opinion that these higher ticket taxes are a good idea:
The proposed increase is greater than the average per-passenger loss. If airlines could pass along the increased tax to the passenger, how come they can't pass along the increased fuel costs (causing much of the losses)??
Answer: Economics 101.
I'm a diehard Republican, conservative as they come, and I am baffled by President Bush's misguided attempts to tax airlines to death.
