That would explain why I didn't get a coin when I crossed over on my IAD-DEN flight (as opposed to the ORD-CDG flight I'd figured) last year. A couple of unanticipated trips and some miscalculation on my part on when I'd hit the threshold -- thought it would be neat to cross it on ORD-CDG but I have reached a stage in life where I really don't need more dust collectors and the personal thanks from one of the FA (which really did feel heartfelt) meant more to me than a coin or the plaque.
