HI MAN airport (UK)

HI MAN airport (UK)

What is your Priority Club status?

Diamond

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Partly

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Queen Std > Queen Premium

How are the rooms?
Lots of power sockets but tiny desk/table.
Stocked minibar.
Despite setting the thermostat to the max of 25°C, it did not make the room warm. Had to keep coat on in room. (Note: this stay was several months before posting, when the weather was cold.)

How is the exec. lounge?
None

What was good and what was bad?
- Convenient for MAN airport train station, with a mostly indoors walking route.
- Free and reasonably generous minibar in upgraded room.
- Good breakfast times (cold food from 3am and hot food from 5am).

- Poor mobile reception inside room – I needed to use a VPN via mobile tethering and my phones could only get signal in the lobby.
- Bad breakfast experience. I was present from 0445 to 0600 - no staff in sight except for a chef, my diamond voucher was not taken, many guests intending to pay were able to eat for free.
- Half of the buffet serving area was empty and only 3 hot items were put out, HIX quality.

At other times, the restaurant becomes "Firin" serving Turkish cuisine.
I tried it out for dinner courtesy of Amex.
Weirdly, on arrival I was asked to choose either the Turkish or English menu, even though adjacent diners ordered from both - and they also seated many groups uncomfortably close to each other even though there were plenty of empty tables.
The food and service were good, however menu prices
very expensive.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
I used an IHG Amex offer, so the total I eventually paid was £124.14 including "expensive" dinner and 5000 bonus EQ points. Additionally received ~£10 from a cashback portal.
