Have a business class booking from YOW to Singapore and back. Return trip is through Montreal as that was the lie flat from Vancouver at my price point. When booked, Montreal to Ottawa did not, as is often the case, have a business class and we were placed in economy. Flight was changed to a plane with business class but we were not moved from economy.

Bottom line is that I don't care for a half hour flight. But looked at upgrades and got an immediate confirmed upgrade for 1 credit each.

Might get better service if something screws up so did the upgrade. (and will otherwise waste some upgrade credits)
Curious if I could have done the same with a phone call?
