For Citi what matters is when you last got the SUB for this card (or possibly family of cards), so keeping the card should not stop you from cancelling it in the future and then getting a new one with SUB assuming your last relevant bonus was outside of 48 months. My plan is to see what the conversion plan is for legacy cards and make a decision then. Unless there is something like a 12-month runway for the legacy cards I'll probably just cancel, signup for the SUB, take the credits and dump after a year. At this point I don't think PP restaurants (assuming they remain) and 4x AA AC lounge passes are worth $595 and chasing a coupon book to offset. I also don't need AA transfers anytime soon as I am sitting on a fair pile of them.
I got a Citi Premier bonus in 12/2021 only for the SUB and closed it a year later.

Would they count this as having a "family" bonus on the last 48 months?

I was going to get the Existing Strata card in Jan 2026 according to my spreadsheet as that would be 48 months. But I would rather cancel my Prestige and sign up for the Strata Elite for the SUB and may or may not keep after the first year.
