On the U2 flight I mentioned, we initially pushed back and parked. But after a few hours, we went back to the gate to allow some people off.

Ive had a 3hr delay morph into 60 mins. If you are on the aircraft, ready to go you can keep arguing for better slots and they mostly appear. If they delay boarding or say to you on boarding the flight is 3 hrs late and goes with 30 min delay presumeable you aren’t going to be happy.
