Just back from JW Masai Mara, some comments on the RC
- RC is open in soft launch phase to test out facilities
- RC is right on the TZ/KE border, which is a great spot for the migration, although is a little distant from the other areas - i.e. you can only go one direction!
- JW and RC staff are being shared as needed across resorts to match demand. Given the distance between the resorts this is a great benefit for the local people who can be closer to their village.
- One differentiation is that the RC will guarantee private guides and tours, so no shared cars, which would be a significant benefit as you would get longer drives and mor eopportunities for a full day out. I believe the JW priced this at $400 per day.
- JW is certainly one of the better resorts (and is only 2.5 years old) and will be curious to see how they manage the differentiation between RC and JW.
