They have major sales on their data plans all the time, and often include free credit with their devices. Agreed that for some countries that the pricing can be a bit high, but I value the convenience of not having to get SIM cards activated locally when my own T-Mobile data isn't enough for.my needs. It isn't a product I use for things like streaming, but it is a handy thing to have peace of mind with knowing I can roam pretty much anywhere I want, and it simply replaced an existing USB-C cable I already carried.
The new one looks far too big to be as convenient, and I have no need for their tracker as Airtags and Google Find Me tags fit my needs without needing charging or a data plan...
