Well, it is now official! I've crossed 1 million miles. Crossed today on UA1012 IAD-TPA.
Have to say, I was sort of a weird thing that no one said anything today... but 3 possible reasons... and I'm guessing it's the 3rd...
- Although, based on this thread, they are upping their game on this, I am not alone in not getting recognized when crossing the threshold.
- I did switch my flight - I was originally booked STL-IAH-TPA, but due to a mechanical issue with the 1st leg, I switched to STL-IAD-TPA. I landed at IAD with 999,990 miles... so I made my million 10 miles into the IAD-TPA flight. Maybe that had something to do with it
- Most likely explanation - I did get recognized on my SFO-TPA flight about a month ago, on the return from Singapore, but I was still about 10,000 miles short, and I told them I wasn't quite there yet... but they still congratulated me - the pilot came out and gave me a coin. I felt bad about that actually. Maybe they triggered something in the system that I'd been recornized already. So I did get recognized, but I hadn't reached it yet!
Regardless, I made it!
