I'm a Flying Blue Platinum and recently booked two Vietnam Airlines Economy tickets using FB miles. I booked through the PSL (the app was bugging out as usual), and the agent kindly assigned me emergency exit row seats at no extra charge. Unfortunately, VN cancelled the seat assignment within 24 hours, claiming these seats require a paid supplement.

After calling again, the PSL agent explained there is an IT issue between AF and VN, where VN's system cannot see my Elite Plus status, so they are treating me as a regular passenger. The agent re-blocked the seats and said to wait for a few days - if they're cancelled again, AF would attempt to contact VN.

I checked my booking on VN’s site - my FB number is listed in the PNR, but Elite Plus benefits don't show. I could call VN, but their French number is "surtaxé" and I would rather avoid paying 80 cents per minute. The flight is still several months out, so I am not too worried, but I'd love to hear any tips or tricks on how to make the seat selection stick without paying the supplement.
