Flying from N. America to Asia, I would go with any of the Asian airlines as opposed to US based airlines, like United, etc. I have flown Asiana, JAL, ANA, SQ, EVA, Philippines, Air India, and Turkish Airlines.

The US based carriers' FAs continuously remind you over the PA that they are their "primarily for your safety." On UA back, I would say the service was typical of what you experience when flying in North America. On the other hand, most of the Asian airlines really do try to accommodate your requests and often bring drinks or snacks down the aisle multiple times. Service was definitely noticeably better, IMO, than the US-based airlines.

Now that I have them, I would not choose Phillipines Airlines or Air India as my first choice(s). Rather, I would go with ANA first if possible. Service and food are great and the planes seemed newer than my experience with JAL. Next would be SQ, then Asiana, EVA, and then JAL. Surprisingly, my one experience with Turkish Airlines was rather pleasant. I just did not like the long flight connecting in IST before going to my final destination.

These would be my thoughts on the airlines going from N. Amer. to Asia.
