My experience of the Platinum soft effect is that it depends on the crew (or purser), on long haul flights, both KLM and Air France. Over the years, I'd say about 30% chance it happens. A nice friendly greeting, a "tell me if you need anything", and bringing stuff from Business Class to me sitting in the Economy (or Economy Comfort) seat eg. noise cancelling headphones from Business, or a business meal, or amenities bag, or voluntarily offered to switch me to a row of empty seats (love that "budget lay flat" effect for long haul haha). Champagne is the most common of that.

On a flight to Tokyo, I had asked innocently when the drinks cart came around, if they have sake instead of wine. She whispered to me, we have it in Business class, I'll bring it for you Mr (says my name), thanks for being a Platinum member. Took me by surprise. And then she asked in Japanese the old Japanese man next to me (stranger, not traveling together) if he would like sake too, ofc he said yes haha. And he was equally surprised. He didn't speak English, but we enjoyed our sake throughout the flight. I was impressed, and will never forget that experience, especially also offering the neighbour too as courtesy.

It's little gestures, not expecting it and I do appreciate it much when it happens.
