I walked over on my lunch break and spoke to staff/managers on duty. The property is about 50% open with the rest still under renovation.

There’s currently only one small entrance on Broadway, between 49th and 48th Streets. The main entrance, when completed, will be on 49th by The Time hotel. Overall, the lobby is much brighter than when it was the Crown Plaza, where it was all dark wood and reds.

There’s a huge CVS across 49th and the flagship Krispy Kreme next to the hotel entrance. Tons of fast casual and fine dining in the area (some them tourist traps).

The 49th St. Station of the N/R/W train is a short block away with the 50th St Stations of the 1 and E trains very close (the latter great for JFK access) as well.

Here’s what I can share for Globalist benefits:

The restaurant is not open yet with no ETA. When it is open, that’s where the Globalist breakfast will be but TBD what will be covered. For now, it’s a $20 voucher per registered guest to the Starbucks around the corner

There are currently only three suites in the property so chances of comp upgrades is minimal. Upgrades to “deluxe” rooms are more likely. Apparently, some existing suites were sacrificed to add double queen room capacity for all the families that frequent properties like this.

As with many other NYC properties, parking is not covered for Globalists on an award stay. The parking garage under the hotel isn’t open yet, either.
