or it could be that MasterCard is planning to open lounges, or something else that I have not imagined.
if this is true, it's going to take quite some time before it benefits the cardholders

1) you can already earn 2x with double cash for domestic spend
2) if typ can be transferred to aa, expect value of aa miles to fall especially since aa employs dynamic pricing. also expect valuable partner redemptions to be near impossible to get
2.1) value of 1.5x typ = 1.5 * 1.5cpp aa miles = 2.25cpd
value need for 2x c1 points = 2.25cpd / 2 = 1.125cpp
i believe 1.125cpp is not hard to find. in theory, if you have a particular redemption anything can be worth more than anything. but in general, i wont say 1.5x aa miles is better than 2x c1 points
Based on your experience, it sounds like the Citi portal is a pain to use. That would make maximizing the rumored $300 travel credit difficult. Maybe I will bite if the initial SUB is juicy enough. Then, will probably PC to CC. BTW, are AC passes currently transferable?
i wont say it's a pain to use, but you are going to find that their prices are a bit higher. i find this the case with almost all travel portals for hotels and car rental. so it could end up at the same price or even more expensive tha booking direct, when you are trying to take advantage of the 4th night fee. you may have better chance if you are opening to booking flights, or it could mean the value of your $300 credit isnt $300. if you can find value in other areas, the card can still worth it
nobody outside of citi knows the details about theAC passes
