1) Both OpenTable (

https://account.chase.com/sapphire/reserve/disclosures) say we can go to this specific link to view the list of eligible restaurants to use the $300 credit:
http://opentable.com/Sapphire-Reserve-Dining. The landing page only shows 18 restaurants and has another link to "Explore restaurants by city". My understanding that once you click the explore by city, it takes you to the Visa collection and not all of these restaurants are eligible for the dining credit. The only verified list is the one listed under this page
https://account.chase.com/sapphire/reserve/benefits under the section for "$300 Annual Dining Credit"
2) We don't have to make a reservation through OpenTable to trigger the credit. We just have to use our CSR when paying the bill? Are there any DP of people using the credit for takeout or gift cards as long as if its paid directly to the restaurant?
Is #2 true? We don’t have to make a reservation thru OpenTable? We’re going to one of the listed cities but have flexible plans with no fixed agenda. We were thinking of possibly popping into a restaurant if we are nearby (and they have room).
