I feel the same way, but with one caveat - I'm struggling between purchasing on the AS website (more expensive) or the partner website (less EQM's). The reduced bonus for J is painful especially on BA or QR, but to purchase the ticket on AS comes with a price premium.
It also comes with the benefit, potentially, of getting AS wallet credit if you need to cancel. Obviously everyone needs to figure out how much of a “premium” is worth pay8ng for the extra miles, EQMs and perhaps flexibility.
