the last post in the original thread is fantastic — a friend and I regularly did similar things at DCA between ~1967-1970

every time I’ve been through DCA in the past ~5 years I’ve noticed the sign for the Abington Plantation archaeological site adjacent to the walkway between the A and B garages

and every time I’ve walked from the A “banjo” to the main hall, the old rotunda has been curtained off with a “Closed for Private Event” sign, but I often take a look beyond the curtain for the view across the river
