Hello!
I'll be in Canterbury for a day on Dec. 9 and feel confident I can seek out a very good day of historical site visiting. But that will bring on an almighty thirst and that will bring on a need for a feed. This is where I need help.
I am spending the night there and returning to London on the 10th. Hopefully my friend will drive us so we can stop out at the cliffs before heading back to town. If she does drive we can stop at Leeds Castle on the way out also. If she does not drive I'll train it out and back.
So what are your recommended pubs and grub in Canterbury?
There is a lot to choose from in Canterbury. It is easiest to wander and choose whatever you fancy. There are some smaller pubs away from the centre in the backstreets which I suspect will be better than the more tourist orientated places in the High Street. Canterbury is quite nice to just walk around. At the time you visit there is bound to be fake German Christmas market in the centre.
