I totally get that, but MCTs are not set with that in mind. I'm sure you know that.

You MIGHT find a sympathetic agent to make a change for you.

I would be uncomfortable with a 30-minute connection at CLT, even though I'd make my connection most of the time. I flew MSY-CLT-LGA yesterday. When I booked it I had a 2+ hour connection time, until my MSY-CLT flight was delayed by 2 hours due to crew unavailability. That would have made my CLT connection 16 minutes, and AA decided to have me arrive at the farthest D gate and connect to the farthest B gate. Fortunately my CLT-LGA flight ended up being delayed by an hour, giving me plenty of time. (I even had time for a quick stop at the AC to see how bad the food there continues to be. The good news: they appear to have gotten rid of those disgusting eggplant sandwiches. What did they replace them with? Nothing!)
