Standard class on the train is pretty much the equivalent of Eurotraveller and Club Europe in terms of personal space and legroom. Standard Premium is a first class carriage without the food and drink service of full first class, and good value. First class is probably wasted on a 13 year old.
But so much longer and far less fun. Also there is no risk a plane is taken out of service mid route.
