We flew Friday 3.30pm flight to Naples from T5. Deposited our 2 bags and haven't seen them since. 3 flights a day from LHR to Naples but no news at all on the aero portal yet. We leave Wednesday for Sorrento and have a hertz car driving up through tuscany for 3 weeks. We have about 3 days of clothes etc but are starting to buy essentials now. Will have to do a 3 week shop of clothes etc and claim back off BA, but its just ruined our holiday, and BA corporate have a lot to answer for. Silence from BA is deafening. They've had 3 days to process the bags. Have they hired thousands extra staff to sort the bags? Have they brought blowers in to keep workers not working in 40 degrees ? No. Lack of care so shame on BA.
I realise how annoying this is but you’re unlikely to see anything in the system until your bag is ready to go on a plane. It’s just how these things work. Keep the address in the tracing system up to date (and if you’re moving frequently, maybe a day or two ahead of where you are) and it’ll probably turn up within the next few days. Keep your purchases to what you need for the next day or so as well, claiming 3 weeks worth of clothes if the bags get to you on Wednesday would be very hard.
