I have yet to find a situation in recent memory where Hertz was the cheaper option. And even if it was is it worth $20/day to risk arrest or a $1000 bogus fee for “damage”?
unless hertz is mandated by your employer why would anyone choose them?
The outrageous AI fees is definitely the major turnoff and I will be avoiding them if I can. Hertz is sometimes cheaper for me, especially with the amex platinum 4 hr grace code, a corporate code, or waived one-way rental fee for some locations. They paid out an average of $500k per false arrest claim, so if Hertz feels like arresting me, they can go ahead.
